Children of John and Mary (Conway) Winker:

Kate - (b. 2 Nov 1870 / d. 6 Jul 1951) Married Charles Rath in about 1885. Kate would have only been 14, Mr. Rath was born in 1856, so would have been 14 years older than Kate. According to the 1895 Wisconsin Census and the 1900 and 1910 U.S. Census, the Rath family lived and farmed in Mukwa Township, Waupaca County, Wisconsin. They had nine children, four of whom died before reaching adulthood:
  • Arthur (b. May 1885 / d. 7 Aug 1904)
  • Clara (b. 31 Oct 1887 / d. 30 May 1890)
  • Carrie (b. Jun 1890 / d. ?)
  • Agnes (b. Aug 1893 / d. ?)
  • Floyd (b. Jan 1896 / d. ?)

  • Edna (b. 6 Jul 1908 / d. 12 May 1911)
After Charles Rath died in 1912, Kate remarried Charles Ravey. According to the 1920 Federal Census, there were three sons - Melvin (13), Marlin (11), and Frances (7) - and one step-daughter - Stella Rath (13) - living in the household, which was in Royalton Township. Kate died in 1951 and is buried next to Charles Rath in Hobart Cemetery, Royalton Township, Wisconsin.

Emma - (b. Abt. 1872 / d. Before 1903) Married to Enos E. Straub on 22 June 1892 in New London, Wisc. The family lived in Green Bay, Wisc. Their children were:
  • Percy (b. Abt 1893)
  • Clifford (b. Abt 1897)
  • Lawrence (b. ?) [Not sure if Lawrence actually existed, or if he was one of the above listed.]
Emma passed away 19 April 1900, in Green Bay. On the 1910 and 1920 Federal Census, the wife of Enos Straub was listed as "Mary", and they were married about 1903. The Straub family lived on West Mason Street in Green Bay, and Mr. Straub made his living operating a dray line. The 1910 Census shows eight boarders living at the same residence as the Straub family, so they must have run a boarding house as well.

Frank - (b. 9 May 1876 / d. 3 Dec 1882) Died of diphtheria at age 6.
